Steel and Glass Theme Not Working...
Hello,
I am using Vista Business - Without SP1. I am having a problem with the Steel and Glass theme working. I have downloaded & run VistaGlazz with no problem. I then downloaded several themes & I really wanted the one I mentioned above to work. I have copied the extracted files to the Themes folder as directed in the tutorial. The Steel & Glass theme is available in the personalization area, but when I pick it, it just looks like the windows classic. I have tried other themes I've downloaded & they all seem to do the same thing.
...So, when I tried to follow the directions of Kelby01, all of the windows had a clear background & the background was black. I could really see any of the text, nor could I see the toolbar, with the exception of icons. Most of the text was clear & so I basically couldn't do much of anything at all. I was trying to find my way through windows practically blind sense a lot of the text was absolutely transparent.
Now, maybe I'm misunderstood what Kelby01 said to do...
I...
Renamed the original Aero folder to oleAero.
Renamed the Steel and Glass folder to Aero.
When I opened the personalization area, it was of course defaulted on Aero, which now looked very odd...But maybe that's because I just changed it. But help me understand, Kelby01 directs me to not use the Steel and Glass theme file?? I may be wrong, possibly confused? Well, it wasn't working. So, I opened up the Steel and Glass theme file in notepad & updated the lines where the path was \Steel and Glass to \Aero. This would be or in my mind, should be more correct since the Steel and Glass folder was renamed to Aero. Now, is when things started changing. Since the Steel and Glass theme was selected the changes started happening...It's like it partly switched over to the new version of it.
...Anyone have any ideas of how I could make this work? I was eventually able to get things back to how they were, but it was hard because I'm kind of blindly sifting through things. Safe mode would still bring that "Corrupted" theme up.
Thanks,
