Great website..I tried to download the vista theme for my XP and I got an error message saying something about my XP version being out of date or not new enough. Error message XP-86. Any ideas? Besides xp professional and other upgrades I wasn't aware of any new XPs out there. What do I need to do to get this vista theme?

This is how i got the themes to install on windows vista (as not sure if this is for vista or xp!)

Befor you start this back up the aero and Windows Vista BETA Version Sounds folders in: C:\Windows\Resources\Themes into another directory so you can replace them if needed.

I found to install themes on vista you have to put them into C:\Windows\Resources\Themes folder as it says rename the aero folder to what ever you like, but keep the aero windows theme file (just rename the folder names) . Then rename the theme folder you want to install as aero folder install the sounds if any into the Windows Vista BETA Version Sounds folder. Now go into personalization/theme and select windows vista and apply it should install the new theme you named the aero folder into.

Hope this helps i used glazz and could only apply it threw appearance then stuffed around for a bit and found this method out!

I can't change my ownership privilages. I go and do exactly as stated but when I get to where I am to change privilages it will not allow me. Any help on how to change it would be great.

I am the only person working the computer, with a password. It is my personal computer so no other member of my family has an account or access to it. Please help me get it sorted out, I hate Areo after 2 weeks of using it!

kingmanic, if you can't replace the files manually, try using VistaGlazz to automate the patching.

i need some help quickyl i lost most of the files in Resources / Themes, it messed up and i created a back up and put it back in, but because my system messed up it went all black i couldnt view anything i managed to get it too windows classic, but what i need is someone to send me their them folder. so i can replace it with my one files are in wrong places and some arnt even their!!!!!1

badrix this seems to be a problem with the taskbar PNG file in the theme. Either contact the theme author and let him know about the bug, or apply another theme and see if it works correctly (to make sure that it's not a problem at your end).

sorry... but i did everything u say above but now my computer does't work...after restart my computer don't enters,only appears the black screen and i don't know what i did badly...
I tries of several forms to solve it but does't even enter...

can you please give me a answer for my problem of an explanation ...
