Default Baffling Vista Theme Installation Problem

I posted this question in another thread, but the last post in that thread was from last year, so I doubt anyone would notice it. So I'm posting here:

Hello everyone. I hope someone can help me apply this theme because it is driving me up the wall.I run Windows Vista Home Premium. I have downloaded and run VistaGlazz [plus the needed restart]. I have given myself ownership of the Resources folder. I have unzipped [or tried and failed] the RAR file to C://Windows/Resources/Themes. Instead, I had unzipped it to my desktop and tried to copy and paste. It did not work. Under themes in personalization, Vista claims that the theme is there, but it does not look like the preview of the theme. It just has one of Vista’s Aero preloaded backgrounds. It seems like a really nice theme but it’s driving me up the wall and at this point, I hope it’s worth the time. If you guys would like to know the theme it's located: New AeroVG Theme for Windows Vista - Tweaking with Vishal

If anyone can help in any way, it will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Did you put it in Resources/Themes folder?

Also, have you tried applying some other theme to make sure if it's not a problem specific to this theme?

Should I try one from here? I really like the transparent themes, where the taskbar is transparent so you can see the wallpaper under it. Glass-like.

So when you apply the theme, absolutely nothing changes or some parts change (e.g. dialog box buttons, control panel sidebar) and some remain the same?

Nothing changes. Only the wallpaper.

Not sure about your problem. It should work if you have done everything right.. unless you have Vista SP1?

If you can't get it to work, there are plenty of other completely transparent themes in our Windows Vista themes section. Take a look and see if some other theme catches your fancy.

Well, I'm not sure if I have SP1. I somehow doubt it because I've had this computer for awhile. I'll try some of the themes you have and I'll see what happens.

I tried downloading another theme, but it's almost like Windows doesn't see it's a theme. I'm not sure what to do.

Is it possible for you to give me step by step instructions from the time of download? For example:

1. Download from site onto desktop.

Maybe then I'll see if I'm doing anything wrong?
