Default Tutorial: How to install and use iTunes skins

Step 1: Download and install iTunes

Step 2: Download and install latest version of Multi-Plugin. Multi-Plugin adds skinning support to iTunes on Windows.

Step 3: Download an iTunes skin from our iTunes skins gallery, and extract its contents to your iTunes\skins folder.

Step 4: Launch iTunes then simply go to Preferences > Multi-Plugin and select your new skin.

Enjoy!

Hi,

With regards to the iTunes plugin - I've installed it but get this error message when I go to open up my Itunes.

"The procedure entry point RegEnumValueW could not be located in the dynamic link library MPlugin.dll."

Any help would be great.

Uninstall the plugin right away.

If you want the skins to work, install an older version of iTunes. The current version of Multi-Plugin is not compatible with the latest iTunes.

If you want to apply skins, stick with the older version of iTunes. I'll post up the new version here as soon as it becomes available.

You can download all iTunes versions here http://www.filehippo.com/download_itunes/

Question What versions should we be running?

You said it's not compatible with the latest version of iTunes and we should use an older version... but you never tell us what's the latest version that is compatible.

If we are using the latest version of the Multi-PlugIn, it requires us to also run the latest version of iTunes or it will NOT install. It directs you to the page for iTunes 7.4.2 but after installing 7.4.2 you get the dreaded error and iTunes will not run.

I have reverted to older versions hoping to find the magic combination... but have had no luck. I feel it would be much easier on everyone if you would post the correct versions to run instead of saying Revert to an older version. there are lots of older versions and we do not know which version to run.

- What version of iTunes should we be running?
- What version of Multi-PlugIn should we be running?

Thank you for your help. It's greatly appreciated!

I'm not sure if this will help but apparently this is a package install of iTunes & Multi-Plugin. (I'm on my Mac so I haven't tried it yet)

You are right. The package install works like a charm.

Those who want to know which version of iTunes works with Multi-Plugin, it's iTunes version 7.0.2. Download iTunes 7.0.2 from here http://www.oldversion.com/program.php?n=itunes

Hope this solves the confusion.

P.S. The bad news is that I think the guy who created Multi-Plugin is no more interested in continuing its development
